I was just wondering if this rail would with the skinner guide gun sights I really like these sights and I have tried searching for it all over the web, but can't find out if the rear sight is tall enough to look over the rail I really don't like the look of the xs ghost ring sight,, I am sure they work great but........I would like a long eye relief scope for the longer ranges THANKS
You need the Scout Mount, not the Scout Rail. The rail is the one that comes on the SBL, it's longer and the only peeps that work on it are the XS ones. What you're describing is like my set up. I mounted the Skinner sights and then mounted a Scout Mount in the front two mount holes and the rear dovetail base. The front sight is a Skinner brass blade that I filed down and thinned a bit to get the right POI. The sights work perfect when I take the scope off there is no problem sighting/shooting with the rail still mounted.
This scope is a Leatherwood, been working awesome and takes the pounding of the 1600 fps 530 gr Tombstone loads and never loses zero. One day if I get some money, I'm thinking on trying the Burris 2-7x32 scout scope, but honestly, it's not a priority of need....

Johnny V is right on all counts. Weaver also makes a scout style rail that will work in your application too.
