Can you safely shoot 44 magnums in a .444 marlin?

You can!!! BUT don't you dare!!!! That is just sooo wrong if you just think about it. Look at the .444 cartridge and look at the .44Mag cartridge. Check the measurements too!!!!
I asked the question myself years ago on a gun forum and they set me straight as well.

If all you had was a 444 marlin rifle and 44mag ammo and it was a life and death situation, then yes!
But to fire a 44mag in a 444Marlin like on a regular bases NO, Paco Kelly does use 44-40's in his 444Marlins, I just don't ever see the reason to do so, and if you did fire 44-40's in your 444, then the chamber must be cleaned very, very good before firing a 444 round.
Firing a 44mag in a 444marlin, you will rupture the brass case and have gases come back at you, and you may even ruin the throat of the rifle, as the gases and burned powder will enter the throat before the bullet does.
Their are only two kinds of people, those who own a 444 and those who wish they owned one,
and yes folks, denial is bliss!
Not much has really changed in the world in 2000 years, Christians are still being thrown to the Lions! and
Satans tool of Deception is still working like a charm, from the time of Adam and Eve, to today!
