I'm a new owner of a Marlin 30-30 made in 1986. There are a few parts I'd like to replace. Also, I love this gun so much, I can see myself getting a few more even older ones. My only concern is parts. Can you still get all parts for Marlin 336's from say the 1950s to the present? I knew once I got one, I'd fall in love with it. I'd hate to get a gun that parts are not available for.
Sure parts are available. But Ill let you in on a secret. These vintage guns are so well made you tend not to need them.Unless your restoring
Midway is agood source for many of those parts. You will probably have to replace parts due to loosing them rather than breakage. A couple of likely canidates are the finger lever screw and the ejector, those are easily misplaced when pulling the bolt to clean the bore from the breach.
I don't know why people on this board aren't more honest. NO, you cannot get replacement parts, and they practically fall off the rifle when you shoot it. they are a hazard to life, limb, and wallet. However, because I am your friend, I will accept it for proper disposal. I won't even charge you for it. Just send it to me....
of course you can get parts, and whatever midway or brownells doesn't have, ebay will. but you won't need any that you don't damage yourself.
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, but not to Marlin336... currently fixing up a 1965 336-44mag that came from an estate auction, really nice little rifle only its missing the carrier assy... anyone seen or heard of one anywhere? Thanks, Ben
BenYonder, that's going to be dang near impossible to find as they were only used on the 336-44 mag and they haven't made them since 1968! Dennis
