Awesome! Maybe I missed it in the other thread but what is the SG mod? .....or is this something to be told later?

Engineer5; go to the 444 Forum, and go to the "One Humongous Sticky"...at the bottom of that page are two articles "The Peashooter Project" and the "Safari Grade 444 Project"....they tell the whole story. This is just another chapter.

Finished that pot of coffee and did some "errands". Came back and found this thread near 4 hours old! GREAT REPORT!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but your SG will still run factory ammo? Not that I will be running any factory stuff through one of these, just posing the question for inquiring minds....

Will continue the ride and looking forward to further developments.

Sweet; Thanks! I appreciate you standing behind me on this!

I have some rounds loaded up with 180 Speers at the OEM COL....I am going to shoot them and see how they do....I have a target to compare them to. In the 444's I have done this modification to, yes, they will shoot OEM COL's very well, and I see no reason why the 35 Rem SG would be any different........and of course the modification will cycle any length cartridge up to the max COL of the modification.

The ride will continue and rooter pig is working the new bullet end of the deal. I have to go to work so I will be out of town for a while, but every chance I get to get this done will be taken advantage of. Stay tuned!

P.S. The 35 Rem case is NOT a weak link!!!

That's always good to know! Proof always lies in the doing, not necessarily in the discussing, but then I knew it all along! LOL!

What!? You don't love me?! Sniff, sniff, well, I'm just gonna call that Dads Rootbeer delivery truck back!:beer glass: Oh well, like is OK I guess. Flat Top, never a doubt in my mind you would make the ol' 35 shine! I think the 220 Speer would be one great jacketed bullet for the modified 35 in any barrel length. Enjoy those deer burgers my friend, you earned em. After you get all done with the 35 I'm gonna send you a sleep tape that repeats, "Think 38-55" over and over and over.:big grin: Thanks for keeping us all in the loop of development FT! DP
