I've been away for awhile, so it was time to dig in the safe to re-aquaint myself with the Marlins. Here's a couple of .35s, one an early 50's ADL, the other a newer special stainless with an 18.5" barrel. Both wear aperture sights and both are superbly accurate with Hornady LE ammo. The quality, fit and finish of the little stainless gun is every bit as good as its older brother. And with the LE ammo, I don't think I'm losing anything in the velocity department. But the older guns are, well, awesome. I can't decide which I like better-so I guess they both stay.

Older, Winchester style swivels on the ADL
Cut checkering vs machine cut, on the stainless. The stainless checkering, though machine-cut, is NICE!
24" vs 18.5"...nothing lost in the carbine, using Hornady LE
Nice old STEEL Lyman 66...vs a later, top-mounted Williams on the stainless.
I like this stainless carbine...the trigger is better, it's handier, and it shoots superbly. I'll keep the ADL, though. The quality on the later guns is as good or better as the older ones (Obviously, the Remlins don't count in this comparison). Looking for your comments on the contrast between the two guns...what's the verdict on quality?
