    Question 336RC Replacement Stock

I just ran across a beat up 336RC, and the Stock is cracked pretty bad. I would like to stay as original as possible, but a synthetic will be an acceptable last resort. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in Advance, Geoff

    Welcome to Marlin Owners.
Stick with wood. You may be able to fix the crack. Post a pic of it and we can give you an idea if it's possible.

Post "want to buy a 336 stock" on our Classifieds section.
Also Ebay has them all the time. Not to hard to come by.

    Thanks Lunar,
Will post pics this evening. Crack is about halfway through, about an inch down on end of stock. Looks to go at least 4-5" toward the front. Appreciate the quick info! Geoff

Sounds very fixable by your description.

    Use a clear 2-part epoxy.
Remove the butt plate carefully spread the crack apart very gently making sure not to extend the crack further, then put a small lump of the mixed epoxy on the butt plate end of the crack and use dental floss to push it as far into the crack as possible. Keep trying to get as much of the epoxy into the crack as possible. You will be suprised how far you will be able to work the epoxy into the crack. Once you have the epoxy into the crack then remove any epoxy over flow. Wrap a bunch of rubberbands around the butt to close the crack. Again wipe off any epoxy bleading out of the crack. Leave it sit for a few days to harden up well, then remove the rubberbands. She will then be good to go.
You can also refinish the stock after you've fixed the crack, it's easy enough.
