Can someone tell me why the rear base on the Tally's is shown facing in either direction, does it just depend on eye relief? Is there a right way or wrong way with the installation? I looked on the Talley website, and they show it mounted both ways. Thanks

Does'nt really matter...the scopes eye relief, and the way it "looks" to you are the only things that do matter.

DSC01040.JPG Here is a picture of the ones we installed. Agreed with last poster. I have seen them installed a couple of ways and was curious if there was a right or wrong way, now I don't think so. I could be totally wrong, but my experience was by simply changing the configuration (end to end positions) that affected the location of the scope and how much adjustment there was for eye relief. We turned them "in" because gave us the scope position on the rifle relative to the eye relief my son wanted, which matched up where he was comfortable with bringing up the rifle and getting into a shooting position. The point is we used the adjustment in ring positioning to get it right where my son was most comfortable. We were not trying for a symmetrical look, it just worked out the way it worked out. Hope that makes sense. Good luck.
PS - sorry about the glare on the picture, but you can see enough
