It's been 20years since I set up my Remington 30-06, and either I've forgotten, or prices have taken off. Quality stuff, case bag, scope, base, rings, flip-ups, sling, buttstock ammunition carry, and I'm at 300 already.

Decided on a Redfield 2-7x33. Which has good reviews on midwayUsa. Btw YouTube has a good selection of informative videos by MidwayUsa. Lots of stuff, I had forgotten, and needed a refresher on, that the videos really helped with.

I figure. 20 years ago I was poor, and didn't feel this pinch. Wish I could remember what I paid for my Remington. I thnk it was under 400, now its about twice that. Whew, glad I take good care of my stuff.

Makes you wish you had bought more stuff 20 years ago. I know there were plenty I regret letting get away.

The value of your Marlin as defined in US dollars (Federal Reserve Notes) has increased due to the continuing devaluation of said Reserve Notes.

Have you priced ammo yet? Take a friend to catch you, if you have not.

I have been shooting 12 ga. Hornady SST slugs at about $12 for a box of 5 for years and assumed that was just unique to that load. Then I recently got back into rifle hunting and almost fainted when I went to buy a box of .35 Remington shells. Rumor is, Santa is bringing me a reloading press.

Use to reload quite a bit. Had a Dillon 550 once. Now I just reload rifle cartridges with my single stage Lee press. Had to buy quite a bit of 30-30, but now have enough to collect the cases such that no mote factory ammo needs to be purchased.

20 Years?...... You sure your name isn't Rip Van Winkle?

If you are as old as I am, You'd remember prices from 40 years ago.....Now, that's inflation!

On a more posative note your rifle is worth more than what you paid for it if it's in good shape and a wanted model! At worst you can still probably get what you paid for it!
