Strange Model Marlin 1970 Centenial 336 in 30-30 Available

OK folks - - here is a new one on me - local shop has this 1970 Centenial Marlin 336 in .30-30 for $279. Condition is very good except whoever took off the rear sight boogered up the groove a little but is still functional to install a new sight.

Army Green Metal with Black Plastic or Composite stocks? Action is excellent and metal is very clean as you can see in the picture.

If you like this specimen let me know and I will send you the shop info.

I saw this down at the Fuquay Gun & Gold. It just has a black painted walnut stock with olive green teflon or gunkote. The scope base is on backwards. I like the way it looks. Cool beater rifle IMO.

Hey Abel - you are correct in the shop but that is NOT WOOD. I pressed in on it myself and it is a plastic or very hard rubber and the grain is too deep for wood. I know RAM-LINE makes synthetic stocks for Marlins but I have not actually seen one before. Does anyone know if Marlin ever made something like this rifle

Oh, she'd make a fine truck gun. I have a few spare scopes layin' around. I'd really like to put the rear sight back in that slot. And that backwards weaver base really irks me for some reason. I just don't have any room for her right now. I would have to get rid of one, and I won't do it for this particular rifle. At that same gun store there is a peg with about eight used leather slings and one of them would go great on this rifle....OMG! Marlinitis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
