What exactly is the difference between these two models. About all I can see is possibly a difference in the quality of the stock. Are the parts, mechanics, quality, etc identical? How does the scope with the 336 package model stand up?
Today's A wears a birch stock, unlike A's of old that had a 24" barrel. The mechanicals are the same, there may be a slight difference in sights.
Any scope that comes on a gun is basically a throwaway.

If I had my druthers, I would shop for the best priced rifle without the scope. Then put some decent glass on it later.Any scope that comes on a gun is basically a throwaway.

It's the stock, that's all. Everything else is the same. Except that everyone knows the more you pay for a gun the more accurate it is!
