Here's two more I purchased 8/24/10. One is a 336RC in 30-30 dated 1964 and the other is a 336SC in .32 Win Special dated 1957 which is scoped. Had a Weaver tip off mount system with a DOA Weaver 2.5x7x32
on it. Took both the scope and the tip off mount off and put a Redfield 2x7x32 Tracker on it. The 30-30 has micro-groove rifling but the .32 Spec
has Ballard Rifling. The switch to micro-groove was supposed to have happened in 1955 or 1956, but they must have had some ballard rifled .32
Special barrels in the warehouse. Shot both and I'll try to post pictures of the targets. They both shot superb.

VERY nice find! I guess the nice ones are still out there.
Nice!

Nice brace of Marlins.

Thanks guys. I bought them privately. My wife and I were at Cabela's in Hamburg last Tuesday, 8/23/10. I'm looking at the used Marlins and a gentleman about my age taps me on the shoulder. Asks me if I like lever actions and of course I said I did. He says his Dad who is in his 80's just quit hunting and is trying to sell two Marlins. I give him my phone # and by the time we get home there is a msg from the guy telling me what models they are and
what calibers, and how much his Dad wants for them. I met up with him on Wednesday and they made the ride home with me. That don't happen a lot but it's a true story. Had them appraised on Saturday. The 336SC was appraised at 95% overall, and the 336RC was appraised at 93%. Both have nice wood on them and they are not all
buggered up. I like the fact that the 336RC in .32 Win Special is ballard rifled.
