    Marlin LTS 30/30 (pictures added)

I have an opportunity to own a Marlin LTS. I have seen the rifle, it functions, and I would put the condition of the bluing and the stocks at around 90%. I have enclosed a couple of pictures, all I have in fact. I have researched this on GB, and have some ideal of the value, but the completed items appear to be rather old.
If you would, and I would appreciate it, give me you opinion of the Marlin and it's value.
    Thanks.

That is a very nice looking rifle. Clean and looks to be in great shape. Someone will come along and give you some good info that will help.

I won't speak to the value because I'd be guessing at this point, but the original price was $325.95.............I will tell you, the LTS was only made for a year or two, and there were not many made. The 336 LTS 30-30 ( Light Tracker Safety) was similar to the older Maurader, but having an 16 1/2" barrel.

I would class the LTS as a rather Rare rifle................I think the LTS was first produced in 1988 to possibly early 91, but I can't confirm that.

That's a good looking rifle, and it would interest me if I came upon it.

I'm not a big fan of short barreled lever guns, but I can say that particular rifle looks very nice indeed! To my eye, short lever guns usually look "stubby" or "cut off". But that one is very well balanced and "symmetrical", if that's the right word.

I'd be proud to have that rifle in my collection (of shooters..no safe queens here!). If the price is right, my opinion would be don't let it slip by.

"Rare" does not always mean expensive. I'm no expert but I wouldn't think long about buying it in the 700-900 range. Anything over that and I'd have to convince myself why I need it. That should only take about 10 minutes, then I'd buy it anyway.

I missed one by "[] that much" about 6 months ago, and the asking price was $500. I don't know what the true value is, but since I hadn't seen one before, I wanted it. Tomray probably knows more about them than anyone I know. All I've been able to find out is they are similar to the 30 TK, in that they were only made for "maybe" 2 years. I'd pay $500 for one now if I could find one, even at 90%. But I doubt that I'll ever see another one. Wan'na tell me where it is? I won't tell nobody else, promise!
