Hi folks. Been away from the levers for far too long. I am looking at a couple of 336's and have a question or two. Just wondering if the new guns are still as good as the others before the Remington - Cerebus (sp?) buyout? Is there anything I need to be aware of? I looked at a bunch of used 336 the other day and they were almost as expensive as a new gun so I am leaning that way. I also am going to pick up another one for my son to hunt with.
Great site and thanks!![]()

Hope this helps put your mind to ease. I just bought a 336A that was new in the box. The quality was there. I did take the rifle out and clean it with no problems. I say you can buy with confidance.

Have no worries, they are great guns and will last long enough for your grandkids to pass down to their grandkids. Not sure about the picking fruit thing... never tried thumping my guns but they all thump back for sure! Buy with confidence and enjoy. I might suggest the venerable .30-30...![]()
