Where can I get the scope mount dummy screws, other then calling the Marlin factory? I bought my 336 used and it came mounted with a scope and see through mounts. I took teh scope and mounts off. The rifle fires fine, and it probbaly doesnt make a diffrence, but I don't like the look of it with thse holes open??
You can order some from Marlin; but if you have a local gun shop check there first. These guys mount scopes on Marlin guns every season and most have a drawer full of these filler screws.
$2.29 per screw!!! nothing like a 'little' markup!

I have the same problem. Mine had a mount installed when purchased. I called Marlin and was quoted $1.40 per screw with an $8.00 shipping charge. I could deal with the per screw cost but not the shipping. Lady told me Remington requires a minimum $8.00 shipping fee. I just installed the mount screws though they don't look as good.
$2.29 per screw, X 4, plus the $5 "Special Handling" fee Midway charges if your order is less than $25, plus shipping.
Shipping is crazy with places not just in the firearm industry. awhil back I had to order a $3.00 piece for my daughters telescope. The shipping on it was $10.50.
I have tons of those screws laying around. PM me and I'll see if I have what you need. I'll only charge you 1/2 of what Midway wants...LOL.
