    36 rpp

I am now the proud owner of one of two known Marlin rifles chambered in 36 RPP (Ranger Point Precision). For any of you unfamiliar with the 36 RPP, here's a link to the 36RPP page on Ranger point Precision's site. RPP: Custom Marlin Lever-Actions, Performance Gunsmith, Houston

Mine is pretty plain Jane compared to the one on RPP's site - No painted furniture, medallion, gold colored loading gate and cap......... But mine does have a 24" Douglas Match barrel and a RPP low profile scope base. I mounted a Weaver 30mm 1-5 scope with European reticle and illuminated dot.

Now I've got to load some ammo. I think I'll start with some 180 grain Speer FN bullets over 50 grains of H322 powder that should yield close to 2800 fps.

Brass is made from 35 Whelen brass cut down and formed using a 358 Win. die. RPP provides a custom spacer to assist proper die height when sizing. I cut the brass down using a
2" Mini Bench top Cut off saw from Harbor freight. It works great and only cost $35.00.

Once I get the 36RPP to the range and the loads chronographed, I'll post a report. In the meantime, here are a few pics of the rifle. - T.S.

Very nice! What are you going to be chasing with the 36RPP? Deer and hogs? Sounds like a great modification. Looking forward to hearing more about it's performance on game too! Congratulations!
