    Offset Hammer Spur...

I want to order a Offset Hammer Spur for my 336CS plus a Owners Manual but cannot get in touch with Marlin. I have called them every 15 minutes for 3 days being very careful to call only during working hours with no luck. Is the Spur from Mr. Mike's, etc. the same as the one supplied by Marlin?
    Thanks in advance...

It's an aftermarket version..... try calling Marlin at 9am EST. That's when I have best luck reaching them

Woodchuck, if you get hold of them and they can supply the flat hammer spurs, please post. I'm looking for 2 of those. I have the Uncle Mike's spurs on 2 of my guns and would like to replace them with originals.

I have been hunting a flat one for my 336 ever since seeing the one on my in-laws 76' 336, I haven't found a part number either.

    Re: Offset Hammer Spur...

I found the originals that came on my two 336's to be a problem. They will NOT stay tight even when I used RED lock-tite. After about a dozen hammer drops onto the safety or shooting, they loosen up. I have bent the little allen wrench from torqueing them so hard, combined with red lock-tite and they still go loose on BOTH guns.

I have been thinking of trying the uncle mikes version to see if they are any better.

I would prefer the flat style of the older Marlin hammers. But they do not fit my newer manufactured hammers and apparently they are like hens teeth to find!

I'm actually considering trying to solder the darn things so they stay on!
