Otasco sold a lot of Hunting and Fishing supplies. When I was in High School in SW Arkanas I bought a Ruger Bearcat singlesix .22 at Otasco.

Hey that's nice. I like the end caps vs barrel bands. I'm not too keen on the mounts but I like the scope. I have a W6x on my Glenny and it's strong and bright.

You guys found the info in Brophy's? I did a quickie search and got nothing. The index might as well not included in the book.....

Thanks for the info everyone. Especially about the smaller store chains down south. I grew up in the north mostly NJ and MI. So I haven't heard of any of those stores mentioned other than Freds. I only heard of Freds because I now live in MS.

This gun has an interesting history. The most important thing, though, is that it's a 336 which is what I wanted. I can't wait to get it out to the range

Very nice looking gun! It looks nearly identical to the set up that my Dad started me with 25 years ago.

The first thing I would do is trash the see-thru rings and "upgrade" the scope (if you are going to keep it scoped).

No matter what the model or who sold it originally, that gun should outlive your grandkids.

    Congrats!
