    30-30 recoil pad

Hey guys, I've been thinking of replacing the butt plate on my 336W 30-30, you know the hard plastic one. Anybody got any suggestions? Nothing fancy, just want to be able to shoulder the rifle without having it slip around. Had to get it out and fondle it you know anyways I was wearing a t-shirt and it just slid all over the place. Recoil isn't the problem, thats should go unsaid. A few years ago I bought a slip on but, it really made the rifle feel completely different so off it came, besides it looked ugly. Mr fixit

    30-30 recoil pad

I'd would like to put a cresent shape on it, I think that might look good and fit the shoulder well enough. Just thinking... Mr fixit

    30-30 recoil pad

chad, that IS one nice looking rifle!! Gunjunkie, just took a look at Marlins web site, the xlr pad looks a bit bulky however the ones on the standard 336C & SS and the 39A along with the 308MX may work very well. Thanks for the response, I never gave a thought to other Marlin recoil pads. ops: I'll give them a call. Mr fixit

    30-30 recoil pad

I like the 1/2" Pachmayer pads in black for Marlins. Enough pad to help but not enough to "overload" the looks.

Would anyone happen to know the manufacturer # for the rubber rifle butt pad on the 308MX? I really like the looks of it. Thanks

    30-30 recoil pad

I have used a slip on Limbsaver. It makes a 30-30 feel like a 22 lr.
