I clicked on the regular 336C .35 Rem and they say they have 4 in stock for $610.00, Now I feel alot better for paying under $500 for my 1950 336a in .35 Rem!

Good Lord, that Limited Editin is horrible. That's a limited edition model!!! Well, I guess thank goodness it's limited. Could they not put a "richly blued" forearm band and lever on it or find some wood that fit? At least for the piucture? The 1895 on the next page looks about five times better.

Do you think they just grabbed up random production rifles and took them to the show?

Today, catalogs are worthless. I view catalogs as an offer to sell something to me, yet SHOW me where I can place an order for virtually anything in the Marlin or Browning catalogs and expect anything approaching a timely delivery. I don't know why they go to the trouble of printing the stupid things.

Boy, how out of touch Sears used to be. The stuff in their catalog was actually available within a non-Methuselah lifetime.

Yep - a lot of their rifles seem to be made of unobtainium.
A rifle, like a wife, should be selected for something other than its looks, although there are many reasons why it should not be downright homely.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed by all the negativity that this thread has received. I was pretty excited to see the new 2014 edition and thought that this post might have sparked some excitement. Personally, I have high hopes for Remington to get their act together.. All the Remington rifles I've handled, mainly model 700's, have been fine rifles. Why is it so out of the question to think that they could figure out the lever action game? Call me naive but I'll stay optimistic for Marlin's future

While i would love to agree with you, you need to look at the facts. Production and Q/C have gone down the tubes with anything that has a post 2009 date. It is 2014, 5 years solid after and it seems there has been no change in quality that is leaving the building. 5 years and no change speaks volumes.
