Can you take a good picture of your 336 wearing the black stock. I am thinking of getting one too. Would like to see the finished product.

    Synthetic stock

I just added a Ramline stock to my 336y.

It does look slightly on the cheap side, but it did fit perfectly. I just have to fit the forearm stock and I will be all set.

I like the length, but I had to add a limbsaver pad to it in order to get that extra inch I need. I am tall so a long length of pull is necessary.

I have been able to place a lot of survival related stuff into the hollow butstock in case of a survial situation.

    Firestarter kit with fuel
    Emergency blanket
    knife
    fishing line
    compass
    Triox fuel
    orange tags as markers
    bandaids

I also added a scout scope mount, large lever loop and XO sights. It is one damn mean looking lever rifle.

    336 Synthetic stock?

I put a Ramline stock on my 336SS. I think it looks nice and the fit is surprisingly good considering the price. The Ramline is slim and light compared to the OEM wood and for me it handles better. I haven't tried to glass bed that rifle, but I'm told that is more difficult with plastic stocks but it can be done. I removed the plastic buttplate and put a 1/2" Pachmayr pad on it

The main complaint I have with the stock is the noise it makes going through the woods. I filled it with foam and that helped some, but it still isn't nearly as quiet as the fiberglass/composite stocks I have on other rifles. Also, some checkering in the grip areas would improve the handling.

If you want a better quality synthetic stock Wild West Guns makes some.

    336 Synthetic stock?

That's what I was going to say. The Wild West looks sharp to me. Someone had a thread a while back on a camo stock he had made with a neat side compartment to hold shells. Anyone remember this gun?

    336 Synthetic stock?

Would like to find a black stock for the 1894, myself !
Look at a wolf, look at a deer, look at a human, look at a black bear. The 30-30 was designed to be the most efficient caliber to down any of them within the range you would most commonly encounter such creatures.

No such thing. I searched for months and months.

The only solution is to use the truck bed liner. I saw pictures. Awesome appearance and durability.
