Is Marlin still in business? For how long?

What is the status on the company? Who owns them nowadays and will they be around long?

Owned by Remington, manufacturing in NY at the Ilion plant. I have seen a limited # of models hitting the shleves before the panic.

The origional CT plant is shuttered

I pass by the plant all the time, it breaks my heart knowing that Marlin isn't there anymore.

I heard that they might be moving from Ilion to Michigan somewhere. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, that's where the rimfires are being produced.

It is my understanding that it is for sale; along with and also as a part of the LARGER group called FREEDOM group, many companies not limited to:

    Remington

    Barnes

    Marlin

    H & R

    Dakota

    Parker

    LC Smith

    Bushmaster

They OWN a lot of different companies and or the rights ....

They were bought/invested in by: as a massive investment by a large Wall st investment house/holding/pension fund ------- which also was invested in HEAVILY by the TEACHERS UNION pension fund.

so after the CT deal it didn't look too good for the same holding investment co to have the Teachers Union $$$$ and all the gun $$$$ as part of the same investment ---- so it basically went on sale the few days after the incident.......

so basically the ENTIRE Freedom group of companies are for sale.

that is the way I understand it..... you can probably google some of that, I may not be exactly correct -- but that's the short bit of it ....
    BOOM!!!!

Isn't Taurus suppose to be buying the Freedon Group ?

I saw a rumor on another gun site that said it was a possibility that Taurus would buy the Freedom Group. I haven't seen anything other than that initial rumor that Taurus had interest in buying. I don't know if it is true or not. The original site didn't have any documentation confirming the interest from Taurus.
