I wrote AA and asked them if they had worked up any load data. They gave me a reply using the same AA2520 Hornady has listed.
HOWEVER the recommended loads differ and AA's goes to a higher velocity.
Here's what they sent:
Sam,
We suggest the following.
Caliber: .338 Marlin Express.
Barrel length: 24”
Powder: Accurate – 2520®.
Bullet weight: 200 grains.
Start load: 42.8 grains (2200 – 2300 Ft/p/sec)
Maximum load: 46.5 grains (2475 – 2525 Ft/p/sec).
NOTES:
It’ important to note that SAFETY is our prime concern therefore we strongly recommend.
1. TO ALWAYS BEGIN LOADING AT THE RECOMMENDED MINIMUM “START” LOAD and develop loads in 2% increments towards the MAXIMUM load.
2. CAUTION: Beware of double charging if the loading density is below 50% of the available volume.
Examples:
Ř Most Handgun caliber/powder combinations as well as
Ř A-5744 with reduced loads for rifles.
3. If possible, measure the velocity and correlate with our data.

Different rifle, different conditions. They can all have affects on a load.
Just speculation maybe hornady didn't want to upstage their factory load. I emailed hodgdon for data too and they load higher than the hornady data too.
You may fire when you are ready Gridley.
Very interesting... a full 2 grains higher! Thanks for the data - I will use this as I am running up those 160gr barnes TTSX loads.

Thanks quietman for sharing the info. I also wrote to Alliant Powders for info on the 338 but have not received a response. I like to do business with people that care enough to respond to the needs and requests of potential customers. Fom

Sam,
Thanks for the data. My brother recently bought a 338 MX and I have been looking for load data. Since I'm using AA2520 for the 35 Remington, this is a good fit. I'm going to work him up a load and hopefully we can chronograph it. His gun has the 22" barrel, so velocities should be a touch slower, but should still be pretty good for deer and black bear.

338 MX...It's not your father's lever action!

I get better velocity out of a lighter load than 46.5. 45.9 gave me 2530fps av. 46.5 only averaged 2515 out of my MXLR. Fom
